ILLUSTRATED, IMAGE-HEAVY AND CHILDREN'S BOOKS

Illustrated & Image-Heavy Books

Whether yours is a children's book crammed with colourful illustrations or a photograph-heavy reference book about steam trains, we can help you create a high-quality print-ready .PDF in your chosen dimension, with interior matter included and any text content proofread and polished, ready for publishing.

You will need to provide your own high-resolution images (at least 300 dpi), and a rough brief outlining each page - if your book is predominantly text-based then simply include the images in the manuscript where you want them - please be aware that to reduce white space and properly align text on pages it will be necessary for us to move them about when typesetting.

HOW IT WORKS:

Like any other book we work with, we would need you to send us your book for its FREE EDITORIAL APPRAISAL, including all images within the document; we will then suggest which service we believe your project requires.

We will work out the proofreading/copy-editing cost of all text in your book based on its word count - these prices are presently as follows:

PROOFREADING RATE:  $7.25 per 1000 words

COPY-EDITING RATE:  $11.00 per 1000 words

(as with all our work, print-ready typesetting is included free of charge, as part of our #ReturnToRealBooks campaign)

Additionally, we charge $2.00 per image to ensure proper formatting and page layout.  A full-page background image is simply priced as one image.

Here is an example of pricing a children's book with 4000 words and 30 images:

COPY-EDITING = $44.00 (4 x $11.00)

IMAGE FORMATTING AND LAYOUT = $60.00 (30 x $2.00)

TOTAL PAYABLE (INCLUDING FREE PRINT-READY TYPESETTING) = $104.00

Use our handy calculator to estimate the cost of creating your illustrated book.
